€100,000 for exemplary climate protection in the Alps
At a ceremony held in Bern/CH on 6 November, the International Commission for the Protection of the Alps (CIPRA) awarded prizes for outstanding climate protection to seven municipalities, businesses and organisations, the winners of its cc.alps competition held across the Alps. Weather expert Thomas Bucheli and CIPRA President Dominik Siegrist presented the prizes worth a total of €100,000. More

The latest member of the network ist the "Region amKumma" in Vorarlberg / A. Over 250 communities throughout the Alps from France to Slovenia joined the "Alliance in the Alps" local authority network to implement the goals of the Alpine Convention for sustainable development in the Alps together. More members

10th anniversary of the network of municipalities "Alliance in the Alps"
|

In October 1997, 27 local authorities from seven Alpine countries established the Alliance in the Alps local authority network in Bovec (Slovenia). Their joint objective was to overcome national borders and language barriers (French, German, Italian, Slovenian) and implement the provisions of the Alpine Convention at the local level in keeping with the principle of “think global, act local”.
